Weddings

Weddings are joyful times. We, at St Peter’s, welcome enquiries about weddings. Anyone who lives within the parish of St Peter’s (check here) can get married in the church – but if one of you has been divorced a special service may be an option to discuss with the Vicar.

If you are a member of St Peter’s church (that is, on the Church Electoral Roll) it doesn’t matter where you live.

You may also have a right to marry here if you can show a real connection with the parish or the church: for example if  you once lived in Birstall, or you were baptised at St Peters Church or your parents were married here. If this is the case you will need to speak to the Vicar and complete a special form to prove your connection.

A couple on their wedding day at St Peter's

We do our very best to make sure that your day is very special. We believe that a Christian wedding is the very best way you can start out on your life together and we will be praying for you as you prepare.

We also have a special day, along with all the couples getting married in the area, for those preparing for marriage when we will help you to consider some important things about married life. We’ll also help you with choosing hymns. We can even provide the flower arrangements for the ceremony.

In the first instance do send an email of enquiry to our Vicar by clicking here.
