St Peter’s church calls on the local community to help save the lychgate!
For hundreds of years the lychgate (opposite the Black Bull pub) has been the traditional entry to St Peter’s Church, and the gate to the final resting place for thousands of local people. Now it is desperate need of repair.
We ask for donations towards the £5000 bill.
The stonework needs repairing, and the roof rebuilding. We hope to start the work soon, and all donations – no matter how small – are very welcome.
