Weddings - St Peters Birstall

Go to content

Weddings are joyful times. We, at St Peter's, welcome enquiries about weddings. Anyone who lives within the parish of St Peter's (check here) can get married in the church provided that they have not been married before and have a previous partner who is still alive - but see below for a special service if one of you has been divorced.

If you are a member of St Peter's church (that is, on the Church Electoral Roll) it doesn't matter where you live.

You may also have a right to marry if
you can show a real connection with the parish or the church: for example you once lived in Birstall, or you were baptised at St Peters Church or your parents were married here. If this is the case you will need to speak to the Vicar and complete a special form to prove your connection.

We do our very best to make sure that your day is very special. We believe that a Christian wedding is the very best way you can start out on your life together and we will be praying for you as you prepare.

We also have a special evening for those preparing for marriage when we will help you to consider some important things about married life. We'll also help you with choosing hymns. We can even provide the flower arrangements for the ceremony.

In the first instance do send an email of enquiry to our Vicar by clicking here.
