Dear Mr Knight, You may remember allowing the interment of my husband Eric, who was a former choir boy, in the cemetery at St Peter's. I am now 80 years old and have taken out a funeral plan to spare my children the trauma they experienced with the death of their father. My request is simple, I would dearly wish my ashes to be placed in the ground to be with those of my husband, we shared a life for 54 years and I want us to be reunited. My place of worship for many years was the beautiful Wesleyan Chapel in Ossett, This has long since been demolished and I have no tie with the present building. If you would grant my request. I would be very grateful. My daughter lives in London and to have to visit 2 separate sites with her children would be difficult and the same situation also applies to my son. Elizabeth Crossley

I'm researching my ancestors of my mother's side "her grandmother Emily Porritt's ancestors" as the Porritts family were born, married & buried at St Peter's Church, Birstall and I've got some of them back to late 1600's - early 1700's, some of them I've got the dates / years and some haven't also some unsure as so many Porritts in that area. Where can I get best information as looked through ancestry but hard which is which. For example Joseph Porritt born on 1761, married on 1778 to Lydia Bollon,
(she died in 1846) but his death?? Some says 1767 ? 1809 or 1822 his parents Obadiah Porritt (1720 - 1808) & Ellen (nee Wilcock) born in 1731 but died on ?? 1823 ??, also Jonathan born / baptised 26 January 1757 did Jonathan got married ?? his death ? February 1807.
Where is the best information so that I can know or visit Regards Michael Towler
